I love looking up the meaning of a word I don't know - most frequently it'll be a word I've known of for years, read over the top of, and ignored. I'm not really a fan of those learn a new word each day email thingo lists that used to be popular in the early noughts, and late nineties. However... I do very much like Urban Dictionary. I'm not American, and neither am I around young adults, so it doesn't map directly onto my life or the language that I encounter. But I do like to observe how language is shaped by the people (in this case young people) who use it. Most of it is pretty clever.

When someone tries to be badass over the internet, like on a forum, or blog because they aren't actually face to face with anyone.
